These guideline amounts are a starting point and your dog may need more food depending upon age, activity and temperament. This represents the total recommended volume of food per day. You should divide the total recommended feeding amount by the number of times you feed your dog per day to get the actual portion size per feeding. When switching to Ol' Blue from another dog food, gradually mix the foods together for a minimum of three days, increasing the amount of Ol' Blue each day until the ration consists entirely of the new food.

A favorite amongst beagle owners and the most popular variety of Ol' Blue, the green bag contains a protien to fat ratio approaching 1:1. Its high palatibiltiy makes it ideal for picky eaters or when transitioning to the Ol' Blue brand. Best suited to this variety are dogs at or under their ideal weight in a moderate to heavy work (exercise) load. These dogs are typically outdoors at least 50% of the time and are over 1.5 years of age. The caloric density of fat (2.25x carbohydrates) mean's they're able to consume less and sustain energy for heavy activity over a long duration (i.e. rabbit, hog, or raccoon hunting dogs). The limited ingredient composition of the food makes it an excellent option for dogs who suffer from various allergies or are on a limited-carbohydrate diet. Because we ONLY use whole corn (no wheat, no soy, no grain byproducts) as an energy source, the stool dries and hardens quickly, greatly reducing kennel clean-up time or intestinal disruption.
